 Odyssey batteries are now becoming the popular choice of many boat manufactures as standard original equipment.  The same battery can be used for both for starting and heavy duty deep cycle applications. Typically the Odyssey battery will deliver two to three times the cranking amperage compared to a similar size battery. This is how Odyssey is capable of replacing an 8D with an Odyssey Group 31 and delivering superior cranking amps than the 8D. The best deep cycle battery in the business is Odyssey. It is capable of being cycled from fully charged to 100% discharged , over 400 times and still deliver full cranking and deep cycle to 100% of its original capacity.
The battery is capable of a ten year service life and is available in a variety of sizes, weights, amp hours and cranking power to fit all boater requirements. It is fully maintenance free, spill proof, explosion proof and maintains its charge much longer than standard flooded batteries. It also charges in one third the time of other marine batteries.

Standard batteries are replaced every 6 months. Completed test with four buses with ODYSSEY PC 1700MJT batteries that ran more than 24 months. Records not kept after 2 years of operation. Working on major battery contract for ODYSSEY PC 2150 series.

Use ODYSSEY batteries in school bus fleet.

U. S. Coast Guard 87’ Marine Protector Class
 These Bollinger built Costal Patrol Boats are based on the Damen STAN 2600 design developed for the Hong Kong police. Bollinger modified the design to meet U. S. Coast Guard requirements including using ten Odyssey® PC1200 batteries in each of the 50 Marine Protector Class Patrol Boats.
This U. S. Coast Guard multi-mission platform is capable of performing Search and Rescue (SAR), Law Enforcement (LE), and Fisheries Patrols, as well as drug interdiction and illegal alien interdiction duties up to 200 miles offshore.
These boats were designed in accordance with the American Bureau of Shipping’s (ABS) Guide for Building and Classing High Speed Crafts and have been in use since 1996. There have been no reported failures to date!
