FAQ's
Enersys, a division of the Hawker Group, introduced the world's first rechargeable, sealed lead acid battery in 1973. EnerSys continued on to design batteries for the demanding needs of the United States Military who currently use their Hawker Battery in military applications such as the F-16 Falcon and F-18 Hornet fighter jets, Abrahms Tank, Navy Seal boats, and Coast Guard Ships.
When used in gun turret systems in Navy ships, these batteries provide a long-term shock resistant solution. These same batteries under the Odyssey name are now being used in large yachts, trolling motor systems, police and emergency response vehicles, mass transit, and other fleet applications.
The difference is in the construction of the battery. Odyssey is the only manufacturer that utilizes pure lead, flat plate technology in the construction process. This allows for more lead plates in a smaller area, exposing more lead to acid and creating a greater power density than any other brand.
